當(dāng)電纜或電纜的內(nèi)部出現(xiàn)斷線故障時(shí)，由于外部絕緣皮的包裹，使斷線的確切位置不易確定。用數(shù)字萬用表可以將這一難題輕松搞定。具體方法：把有斷點(diǎn)的電線（電纜）一端接在220V市電的火線上，另一端懸空。將數(shù)字萬用表拔至AC2V擋，從電線（電纜）的火線接入端開始，用一只手捏住黑表筆的筆尖，另一只手將紅表筆沿導(dǎo)線的絕緣皮慢慢移動(dòng)，此時(shí)顯示屏顯示的電壓值大約為0.445V（DT890D型表所測(cè)）左右。當(dāng)紅表筆移動(dòng)到某處時(shí)，顯示屏顯示的電壓突然下降到0.0幾伏（大約是原來電壓的十分之一），從該位置向前（火線接入端）的大約 15cm處即是電線（電纜）斷點(diǎn)所在。
